Actor Nicolas Cage is a well-known comic book fan. He named one of his son’s Kal-El after Superman, created his own comic book, “Voodoo Child,” in 2007, and even his own name is a nod to comic books. The geek formerly known as Nicolas Coppola took Cage as his professional surname in honor of Marvel’s Luke Cage.

Now BossLogic imagines what a Marvel Netflix series might look like with Nic Cage as its hero. The artist unveiled his take on a Nic Cage promo poster on his Instagram. You can check out the hilarious meme below.

BossLogic used Netflix’s real Luke Cage poster as the template for this hilarious mashup idea, including actor Mike Colter’s real upper body and arms with a serious-faced Cage carefully edited in. The artist’s work is so precise that he somehow manages to combine the two Cages without Nic being in blackface and without Luke being whitewashed.

Comments on BossLogic’s post joked that the plot of a Nic Cage series would likely be a mashup of plots from the actor’s previous work all we really know is that Nic Cage as a Luke Cage-style hero looks like a far better show than Cage’s doomed Superman Lives.

Marvel’s The Defenders follows Daredevil (Charlie Cox), Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Luke Cage (Mike Colter) and Iron Fist (Finn Jones). A quartet of singular heroes with one common goal – to save New York City. This is the story of four solitary figures, burdened with their own personal challenges, who realize they just might be stronger when teamed together.
