When Tony Stark upgrades your tech, it’s safe to assume you’re going to be loaded with some pretty sweet bells and whistles. Spider-Man discovers this in Captain America: Civil War when he’s gifted a brand new suit by Iron Man before heading into the climactic airport battle. And we get to learn even more about the suit when Spider-Man: Homecoming premieres this Friday.
The suit even has its own artificial intelligence to aid the Wallcrawler, a la JARVIS or FRIDAY from Stark’s own Iron Man tech. Spidey ends up calling her Karen. And the coolest part is that the A.I.’s voice actor is a pretty sweet meta- Easter Egg for Marvel fans.

Director Jon Watts revealed that Spider-Man’s A.I. is voiced by none other than Academy Award-winning actor Jennifer Connelly, who is married to Marvel Studios star Paul Bettany.
“Yes, it’s Jarvis’ wife,” Watts said to EW. “It’s cool, right?”

Bettany played Tony Stark’s original A.I. in the Iron Man and Avengers movies until he got upgraded to become the Vision in Avengers: Age of Ultron. The actor will be featured in Avengers: Infinity War when it releases May 4, 2018.
Will Vision and Spider-Man share some scenes in Infinity War? If so, maybe we’ll get to see Karen and the former Jarvis interact in some fashion, taking this meta-easter egg one step further down the rabbit hole.
After all, art does imitate life. Or is it the other way around?
Spider-Man: Homecoming premieres in theaters July 7.
