Spider-Man: Homecoming will earn at least $100 million from 4,348 locations in North America in its opening weekend. Most have the film earning $115 million or more by the end of the weekend, with the highest estimates going to $120 million. That’s well above the studio estimates of $80-90 million and the early industry estimates of $85-110 million. Those numbers could make Spider-Man: Homecoming the second-largest opening for a Sony Pictures film ever behind Spider-Man 3‘s $151 million.

Spider-Man: Homecoming earned $15.4 million from early screenings on Thursday night, which is the third-highest Thursday night preview gross of 2017 behind Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 ($17 million) and Beauty and the Beast ($16.3 million). The film is estimated to have earned $51.5 million by the end of Friday.

With Spider-Man: Homecoming being the only major debut this weekend, last week’s chart-topper Despicable Me 3 holds onto the number two spot. Despicable Me 3 earned about $11.6 million on Friday and is set to earn $37.3 million in its second weekend, propelling its box office total to $152.5 million.

Edgar Wright’s Baby Driver continues to perform well. The film slides from number two to number three this week, earning $11.6 million on Friday and an estimated $12.5 million over the weekend for a box office total of $56.6 million.

DC Film’s latest, Wonder Woman, maintains its place in the top five. Wonder Woman is clinging to the fourth place spot with $3.1 million on Friday and an estimated $10.6 million for the weekend, bringing the DC Extended Universe’s highest domestic grossing film to $369.3 million in total.

Cars 3 manages to maintain the number five spot for the second week in a row. Pixar’s latest earned $1.9 million on Friday and is set for $6.2 million over the weekend.
