Fans of superheroes regularly connect with the courageous acts carried out by beloved characters, whether it be stopping a petty thief or saving the entire galaxy. For us, it seems hard to believe that anyone could want to stop the X-Men or Batman from regularly putting their lives on the line for the greater good, given the ways in which comic books give us an inside look at their motivations. Characters within that world, on the other hand, have regularly demonstrated that things can all be a matter of perspective and, if you’re only witnessing one element of a character, those actions can be perceived entirely differently.

One comic book character who famously speaks out against a beloved hero is J. Jonah Jameson, who sensationalizes the heroics of Spider-Man to make the character look like a menace. The journalist’s outlandish behavior might seem laughable, though a group of fans on Reddit created a group in which they demonstrate how easy it is to turn the tables and make Spider-Man look like a villain.
