Lee announced today that his final appearance in Texas will be at Fan Expo Dallas, which runs from March 31 to April 2. The 94-year-old is slimming down his appearance schedule over the next few months, so if you haven’t had a chance to meet the popular creator, you might want to make a trip out there.
“We have been extremely fortunate to have Stan Lee appear as a guest at FAN EXPO DALLAS over the years,” said FAN EXPO HQ Show Director Andrew Moyes. “The impact he has made on pop culture is immeasurable and permeates nearly every inch of our shows. We are truly honored to have the chance to host him one final time at FAN EXPO DALLAS this March.”
In addition to Stan Lee, the show will also include Gotham’s Robin Lord Taylor (Oswald Cobblepot), Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow star John Barrowman (Malcolm Merlyn), and Vampire Diaries stars Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley. The show will also include beloved actor Tim Curry (Rocky Horror Picture Show, Clue). You can grab tickets here.
As for Lee, when he was asked if he would do anything different in hindsight (regarding his time at Marvel), Lee said “No. What we did years ago was pretty good. But (the film successes) had to take until Marvel became under new management who was willing to do the movies. We were run by people who didn’t want to do movies. They didn’t want to do television. I remember I said to one publisher that we had, I said, ‘Why don’t we put our characters on the screen like Superman.’ And he said, ‘Well, what if the movie isn’t a hit? They’ll stop buying the books.’ That was the way they thought. So it took until Disney came along, bless Disney.”
