At a press junket for Logan hosted by 20th Century Fox in New York City, Jackman revealed to ComicBook.com that his favorite memory and movie of his saga are rolled into one: Logan.
“I think this film,” Jackman said of his favorite memory. “This is my favorite and doing it with [director] Jim [Mangold], it’s my third movie with him, and a lot of people behind the scenes that have been there from the beginning… Some of those last days of filming, I will never forget.”
Also returning to an iconic character for another go 17 years in is Patrick Stewart as Charles Xavier.
Stewart expressed similar sentiments regarding his favorite memory after nearly 20 years of working with the X-Men movie universe.
“You know, I have to blend a lot of experiences into one,” Stewart said. “It was the ease and the comfort and the warmth of sharing the set with Hugh [Jackman]. When we actually had a history, a 17-year history as characters in a franchise and actors on a set, it meant that so much of what we communicate between us – not the rage, not the fury, not the anger – but, other aspect of it, which already existed and were authentic, I think for both us.”
Stewart and Jackman started their run as on-screen mutants in 2000’s X-Men film. Since, they have each taken on more than half of a dozen films as their respective characters. While Logan promises to be Jackman’s final effort as Wolverine, Stewart says he is ultimately up for more rounds as the Professor.
