When it comes to the Matrix franchise, Keanu Reeves is king. The actor rocketed to international stardom after the actor brought Neo to life, so fans have been dying to know what the actor thinks about plans to reboot the series.

So far, it doesn't look like the actor knows anything about The Matrix's future.

New York Comic Con invited Reeves to speak with fans at a panel for his next movie Replicas. It was there a fan asked the star what he thought about the reports concerning The Matrix's reboot. Reeves stayed diplomatic during the exchange, but ComicBook was at the panel; The actor didn't seem to excited about the whole ordeal.

After the question was asked, the crowd erupted into jeers at the thought. Reeves held out his microphone to capture the sound as if he agreed before saying, "Remaking The Matrix. I don't know. Maybe it's... I don't know anything about it."

The reaction fans - and Reeves - had is not a surprising one. After all, the Internet rose up against reports earlier in the year that suggested The Matrix was in for a reboot. There were earlier reports that confirmed Warner Bros. was looking to revive the series. However, writer Zak Penn did stress the project will not rehash The Matrix if he's the one overseeing it.

"All I can say at this point is no one could or should REBOOT the Matrix," Penn shared on Twitter. "People who know Animatrix and the comics understand."

"Can't comment yet except to say that the words "reboot" and "remake" were from an article. Let's stop responding to inaccurate news."

If Reeves is in the dark about The Matrix's comeback, then it is safe to say Warner Bros. has not approached the actor about a cameo. Previous reports have suggested the studio is eyeing talent like Michael B. Jordan to headline the project, so fans should (maybe?) look forward to what is in store for the franchise.

The Matrix (1999) - The box-office sensation follows the trials of a young computer programmer (Keanu Reeves) searching to determine the deepest reality of a post-Apocalyptic world. His journey uncovers a web of deceit and massive computer-generated illusions obscuring the truth. As the character Morpheus (Laurence Fishburne) said to Neo (Reeves), "No one can be told what The Matrix is. You have to see it for yourself." The same is true for this mind-blowing movie. The film also stars Carrie-Anne Moss and was produced by Joel Silver.
