While that last Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice trailer made Ben Affleck's Batman look like a force of nature, Affleck himself says it isn't him who has the best action scenes in the movie.
That would be Wonder Woman.
In a recent interview with Premiere magazine, Affleck also praised the performance of Gal Gadot, which he said bypasses the challenges of playing a character as iconic as Wonder Woman.
"Gal Gadot plays the character of Wonder Woman in the movie," Affleck told the magazine. "It's very difficult not to fall into the ridiculous. The border is extremely thin but she really doing well. The most impressive action sequences in the film are actually hers."
This seems to speak to long-running concerns about developing a character like Wonder Woman, who is hundreds of years old and has to blend elements of traditional Greek mythology with superhero tropes, to the screen successfully, but Affleck expresses optimism that writer Chris Terrio and director Scott Snyder have cracked the code.
Fearing the actions of a god-like Super Hero left unchecked, Gotham City's own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis's most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it's ever known before.
