Could The Hangover's Bradley Cooper be the choice to voice Rocket Raccoon in James Gunn's upcoming film adaptation of Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy? He's already been offered the job, if Latino Review is to be believed (which is about half the time). The news and rumor site that first broke news of a Guardians movie set to be announced at Comic Con 2012 blasted out to its e-mail subscribers tonight that Cooper's representatives had been contacted and that, at this point, it's down to whether the movie star would accept the offer or not. Earlier in the year, Latino Review ran a story alleging that Adam Sandler and Jim Carrey had been contacted about the coveted part, which ultimately went nowhere. Still, Gunn has said that the Rocket Raccoon of his script has a specific sensibility, and there's a very small crossover between all three of those actors. If it's true they've all been explored, then, fans could probably make some fairly reasonable guesses about the character's general tone. Cooper, one of the most sought-after actors in Hollywood, is often mentioned in conjunction with any big-budget blockbuster that comes along--although he's been tipped for DC movies more often than Marvel's (although he, along with every other big name in Hollywood, was briefly rumored for Star Lord in Guardians), perhaps because The Hangover was a Warner Bros./Legendary franchise. Green Lantern and Batman are both names Cooper has been associated with in recent years, while he starred in The Silver Linings Playbook alongside X-Men: First Class star Jennifer Lawrence. Marvel writer and Fox executive Mark Millar has made it no secret that he wants Cooper for Supercrooks, a film adaptation of his comic by the same name.
