“If you’re making a movie purely for the fans, you’re kind of missing it,” Teller says. “I think, at the end of the day, you have to do it for yourself, and kind of the story you want to tell, and then hope people kind of gravitate towards it.”
Teller then went on to talk about what fans can expect from the film.
“With Fantastic Four, I’ll say that it’s a movie with a director that has a very clear tone, Josh Trank, who I think is a really talented guy, obviously. He did Chronicle, and now Fantastic Four, and he’s doing another Star Wars movie, so I think people are starting to realize his talents. And then all really good actors, with Jamie Bell, and Michael B. Jordan, and Kate Mara, and Tobey Kebell. So I think that we’re going to surprise people for sure, because it’s completely different from the ones that came out a couple of years ago.”
The Fantastic Four will open in theaters August 7, 2015.
