With very little concept art seen, no teaser trailer and pretty much nothing known about the plot other than what the title tells us the buzz (I’m sorry) for this film has been quiet. So with Ant-Man and the Wasp’s director posting to instagram yesterday we can finally have something to look at for the film that’s due in less than a year now.

Well. As you can see from the photo below, it’s not much. Unless you really want to try and read into things. The post is a photo of a Ant-Man action figure on top of a Starbucks coffee cup and the name “Paul” written on it. A quick browse of the IMDB page shows that Paul Rudd is the only person on set who’s coffee this could be.

Reed’s only text on the instagram post is the cryptic “Getting closer. #antmanandthewasp.” For now, I guess we’ll just have to wait. Saturday is Marvel’s San Diego Comic-Con panel – so be sure to check back in with us at ComicBook.com.

Ant-Man standing on top of a Starbucks coffee made me thing of one of my favorite Paul Rudd scenes. Paul/Danny trying to order a coffee in the film Role Models.

Danny: Can I get a large black coffee?
Barista: A what?
Danny: Large black coffee.
Barista: Do you mean a venti?
Danny: No, I mean a large.
Barista: Venti is large.
Danny: No venti is twenty. Large is large. In fact tall is large and grande is spanish for large. Venti is the only one that doesn’t mean large. It’s also the only one that’s Italian. Congratulations, you’re stupid in three languages.
Barista: A venti is a large coffee.
Danny: Really says who: Fellini? Do you accept Lira, or is it all Euros now?

Ant-Man and the Wasp is set to be released July 6th, 2018. Directed by Peyton Reed, story by Adam McKay and Paul Rudd and screenplay by Andrew Barrer and Gabriel Ferrari. The film stars, of course, Paul Rudd as Ant-Man, Evangeline Lilly as The Wasp. Michael Pena and Michael Douglas and David Dastmalchian are returning from Ant-Man’s first installation.

Ant-Man and the Wasp is currently hovering at number 11 as Comicbook.com’s comicbook movie anticipation “Best-Rated Before Release” chart.
