Shooting Clerks

A group of filmmakers are trying to crowdsource funding for a biopic about Kevin Smith. The film, called Shooting Clerks, will tell the tale of how Smith produced his first motion picture, Clerks. The film is being made by Christopher Downie, Brett Murray and Felix Kay. Downie and Murray currently produce short biopic's for Smith's SModCo YouTube Channel. Kay is independent film production specialist. From the Indiegogo site:

Our dream project has always been to shoot a feature film biopic detailing the struggles a young Kevin Smith encountered while trying to figure out his place in the world. After a short spell at film school he came up with the idea of shooting a feature film in the very convenience store he worked in. Armed with limited resources, ill begotten credit cards and the dedication of long time friends Kevin risked everything to bring his unique vision to fruition.

The filmmakers are offering potential contributors SModCo merchandise, props, costume pieces and even a chance to be in the film. Confirmed cast members include Ernie O'Donnell, Betsy Broussard, Scott Schiaffo and Kevin Smith. The team also said many cast members from Clerks will make appearances in the film.
