According to an interview that Comic Book Movie conducted with Dee Brown of Beenox Studios, who are developing the video game for The Amazing Spider-Man, events that take place in the climax of this summer's Spidey reboot will directly lead to the birth of the Black Cat (longtime Spider-Man enemy/ally/love interest Felicia Hardy), who makes her first appearance in the video game whose story follows the plot of the movie. Because he worked closely with the filmmakers to craft Felicia's look, the site speculates that she may be appearing in the presumptive sequel to the film. While it's not safe to assume that the mere presence of a character means they'll be appearing--The Rhino appears in the game, for example, and there's no indication he'll be appearing in the film or its sequel--the fact that they consulted with Sony and Marvel about the approach to this particular character, though, seems as though it might say something. "We actually had some color in her hair for quite some time, but then we realized it was taking too much away from what we felt the fans--ourselves included--would really want," said Marvel Games' Interactive Manager Chris Baker in a follow-up interview with CBM. "We actually have a story-based reason for her white hair with roots--no pun intended--relating directly to the climax of the movie itself, even though she doesn't actually appear in the film." Also noteworthy in the original interview is the suggestion that Gwen Stacy and Curt Connors appear in the game, seeming to imply that those characters will therefore survive the film and be potential sequel fodder themselves.
