When we say major, we mean the entire Extreme Universe!

Fundamental Films has just brokered a deal to bring the vast array of Liefeld’s characters brought to life.

The Extreme Universe contains a ton of characters that are very similar to Deadpool in terms of violence and humor. If the movies are going to be anything like the comics, we can expect and entire connected universe of fourth wall-breaking smart alecs, who are known to blow up a thing or two.

Some of the series’ most popular characters include Bloodstrike, Bloodwulf, Baboom, Lethal, and Nitro-Gen. These are just a few however, as the universe inculdes over 100 different characters.

According to the press release, Graham King – head of Fundamental Films – will oversee the entire connected universe. The goal is for King to put together a full team of writer’s who can handle the multiple different projects.

Graham King and Akiva Goldsman will produce the full universe, along with liefeld and Brooklyn Weaver.

In the release, Liefeld issued his official statement on the new deal.

“Over the past nearly 25 years, since launching Image Comics, I’ve been lucky enough to see the power of these stories and characters as they’ve resonated with several generations of comic book fans. To now be able to work with Akiva Goldsman and Graham King, who are powerhouses in their own right, to bring these compelling characters and conflicts to life on the big screen is nothing short of a dream come true!”
