Star Wars Episode 7 Pre-Production

Last week, the first official casting call for Star Wars Episode 7 emerged. While the casting information was light on details, there was one re-occurring requirement. Of the seven posted roles, five of them required the actor to be physically fit. Of course, Star Wars Episode 7 will likely feature lots of action, so it makes sense Disney would be looking for physically fit actors. One big question has been what role the original cast might play in Star Wars Episode 7. Will Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, and Princess Leia actually be involved in action sequences? Or will they play more or a teacher and parenting role to the new cast? Well, according to The Sun, Disney has told Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher that they need to go on a diet for their roles as Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia respectively. Disney will reportedly be supplying both stars with a top nutrionist and fitness trainer to help them get in shape. While the article cites an unnamed source, Carrie Fisher has made similar comments at public appearances, so it's likely that the information is true. Could the trainers be an indication that Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia will be involved in numerous action scenes in Star Wars Episode 7? If their characters were only going to make brief cameos or appear in background teacher roles, Disney might not be as concerned about getting them back into shape.
