Disney fans are known to be very devoted to the theme parks and their attractions, but this week fans have to say goodbye to one of Disney World's classic attractions.

As reported by People, Disney began the demolition of DisneyQuest, a five-floor interactive indoor attraction that has been a fixture of Disney Springs (formerly Downtown Disney) since it opened back in 1998.

While the actual demolition of the attraction is recent, fans have had a few years to come to terms with the end of DisneyQuest. The park announced in 2015 that the attraction was dismantled in order to make room for a new, hands-on NBA Experience for Disney Springs.

While the new NBA Experience may become as popular as DisneyQuest, it will be a very different type of attraction. DisneyQuest was often described as an indoor virtual theme park. The attraction featured virtual versions of classic Disney rides, such as Cyberspace Mountain and Jungle Cruise asd well as various interactive games.

However, just because DisneyQuest will be gone it will not be forgotten. Pieces of the attraction are being donated to charity and some pieces are even being moved to other Disney parks or archived within Walt Disney World Imagineering. Some company employees will even have the opportunity to take some of DisneyQuest's games home with them as memorabilia.

NBA Experience is expected to open to visitors in the summer of 2019 as just one of Disney World's upcoming new attractions, including an expansion to the Toy Story attraction and an all new Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge attraction.

For fans who can't wait until Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge opens in 2019, however, or simply are looking for something to ease the loss of DisneyQuest, Star Wars: Galactic Nights is returning to the park on December 16th, one day after The Last Jedi opens in theaters.
