The BBC have formally announced what was already widely known--that the new star of Doctor Who will be announced on Sunday evening London time via a TV special. There's even a trailer for the show below, although obviously without footage since it will be recorded in front of a live studio audience.
Doctor Who Live: The Next Doctor will air exclusively on BBC One at 7 p.m. and on BBC America at 2 p.m. EST, although obviously just about everybody (including ComicBook.com) will have the information up and ready online within a few minutes of the announcement as the news trickles out through social media.
Word of the special leaked this morning, along with rumors that the actor announced will be Peter Capaldi, who ironically is credited as a W.H.O. (World Health Organization) doctor in World War Z.
