The episode will see the modern versions of the Turtles – Seth Green as Leonardo, Sean Astin as Raphael, Rob Paulsen as Donatello and Greg Cipes as Michelangelo – travel to an alternate dimension, where they meet their 1980s counterparts, voiced by their original voice actors – Cam Clarke as Leonardo, the same Rob Paulsen as Raphael, Barry Gordon as Donatello and Townsend Coleman as Michelangelo.
The episode will be split between 2D and 3D animation, with the 3D Turtles going 2D while in the 1980s series universe, and the 2D Turtles gaining a dimension while in the universe of the modern series. The episode also offers a glimpse into a third universe, that of Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird’s original Mirage Studios Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comics.

This kind of TMNT crossover has been done before in the Turtles Forever TV movie by 4Kids Entertainment. All three versions of the Turtles will also be represented in upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles HeroClix and Dice Masters sets from WizKids Games.
The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles “Trans-Dimensional Turtles” episode airs Sunday, March 27 at 11 a.m. ET on Nickelodeon.
