This December, BOOM! Studios has announced they will release a hardcover edition of Bill & Ted's Excellent Comic Book Archive, collecting the acclaimed Bill and Ted's Excellent Comic Book from writer/artist Evan Dorkin.

Bill & Ted's Excellent Comic Book was a twelve-issue comic book series published in 1991 and based on the Bill & Ted franchise. Marvel published the series, which started with a one-shot adaptation of Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey and then picked up where that movie left off.

It was later reprinted in trade paperback from Slave Labor Graphics. Those editions didn't include Bill and Ted's Excellent Comic Book #8, which Dorkin didn't work on. BOOM! has confirmed for ComicBook.com that the new hardcover edition will not include that issue, either, although its cover (which Dorkin drew) will be included.

Dorkin, who more recently has worked on the acclaimed Beasts of Burden, is experiencing a bit of a reprint renaissance; recently, Amazon revealed that his 2001 one-shot Superman and Batman: World's Funnest, which pitted Mr. Mxyzptlk against Bat-Mite across the worlds of the DC Multiverse, will be reprinted in March.
