Marvel was kind enough to send us some official images of Quicksilver/Pietro Maximoff concept art from Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron: The Art of the Movie Slipcase.

These alternate costume designs for Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s character with superhuman speed were created by conceptual artists Andy Park and Jack Dudman.

What I find most interesting is that both artists clearly tried to add elements of the various costumes Quicksilver wore in the comics, such as the multi-shades of green he was initially clothed in for his first appearance in 1964’s X-Men #4. There’s even some subtle use of Quicksilver’s white lightning bolt logo that he has sported throughout, except for his time with X-Factor in the 80’s. Pietro is most associated with his 70’s light blue or 90’s navy blue costumes. That color palette was also dipped in by the artists, and it end up becoming part of his theatrical look.
