Today sees the release of Starfire #6, concluding the first arc of Jimmy Palmiotti and Amanda Conner's DC You reinvention of the character which we've called one of the best new DC titles you should be reading.
The pair, of course, also work together on a number of other projects, most notably on Harley Quinn, the breakout hit that blends action, humor and...well, basically insanity.
Palmiotti joined us at New York Comic Con last month to talk about his work with Conner, and in particular to focus on Starfire. You can check it out below.
"Amanda and I write the book so it entertains us," Palmiotti told us. "What we found is that we created an amalgam of what everybody thinks Kori should be. For us, we were very conscious of the fact that if this is the first time you've ever read her, the door is open and you can see what the character is."
He said as they write the series, they're getting into more depth, exploring her powers, and "just trying to write a fun book."
You can pick up today's issue here. If you haven't read the series yet, check out a free, eight-page preview set prior the events of Starfire #1 below.
