Star Wars creator George Lucas has weighed in on Star Wars: The Force Awakens, the first film in the series since he sold Lucasfilm to Disney, making it the first film in the series that he has had no involvement with.
Lucas seemed reluctant to share his own feelings about the movie, instead offering his take on how fans will react.
"I think the fans are going to love it," Lucas told Vulture from the red carpet of the Kennedy Center Honors in Washington on Sunday. "It's very much the kind of movie they've been looking for."
That's certainly a different answer than what Kathleen Kennedy had previously communicated, saying that Lucas "really liked" the film.
Lucas has compared the selling of Star Wars to going through a divorce, and his "review" of The Force Awakens does seem to keep the tone of a man trying to stay positive while watching his ex move on.
Check out when Star Wars: The Force Awakens and other movies are coming out in ComicBook.com's Movie Release Schedule.
