George Lucas, the father of the Star Wars franchise, has seen the newest movie, The Force Awakens. The film is the first that he's not involved with, after he sold Lucasfilm and its properties to Disney in 2012.
"He really liked it," Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy reported to THR second hand. George Lucas is one of the first people to see the finished cut of the movie outside the cast and crew, a testiment to the respect they still show him.
He'll also be attending both premieres of the film, in Los Angeles, California and London, England, later this month as a special guest.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens officially releases in theaters December 18, 2015.
