iZombie Recruits Scrubs Veteran Judy Reyes For Guest Role

Judy Reyes of Scrubs and Devious Maids fame will appear as a guest star in an upcoming episode of The CW's iZombie, Entertainment Weekly reports.

The veteran comic actress will play Lola Abano, an artsy bohemian who becomes the prime suspect when her artist husband is murdered.

Presumably, her husband will be one of the dead people Olivia "Liv" Moore has to help. In the comics, main character Gwen was a zombie who had to eat brains in order to keep her humanity and prevent her baser instincts from taking over. Eating brains, though, gave her a glimpse into the mind and memories of the deceased.

In the TV series, that's true too...but they've added the wrinkle that she uses that insight to work for the police, ostensibly as a psychic who helps close difficult murder cases.

The series, based on the Vertigo comic books from Chris Roberson and Michael Allred, will air on The CW at midseason, and is expected to premiere in January.
