Over at DC Comics' blog The Source, they've been revealing first-look images at not only the standard covers for this month's Justice League #6 and next month's #7, but also for the variant cover to #6 as well. Click on the images below to expand them to full-size; Justice League #6 will ship on February 29 with two covers--one by Jim Lee that depicts the League kneeling before Darkseid and a close-up of the baddie himself by Aquaman artist Ivan Reis. "I wanted to create a cover which resonated with what I consider to be the most classic Darkseid story – namely the Great Darkness Saga," Lee told The Source. "So that entailed the Justice League bowing down naturally to the power of Darkseid. Except of course Batman who, despite not having powers, fights with all his strength in defiance." The issue, out next week, concludes the initial arc of Justice League by DC co-publisher Jim Lee and Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns. Lee will then sit out a few issues while Gene Ha does most of the heavy lifting and the title's backup feature--Power of Shazam! by Johns and his onetime Action Comics artist Gary Frank--launches. The first six issues of Justice League by Johns and Lee will be collected in Justice League Volume 1: Origin, available in hardcover on May 8. The following month, Gary Frank will provide not only the backup feature but the cover of the issue as well. The issue will see the introduction of Wonder Woman's onetime beau, Steve Trevor, into the world of the New 52 and, as such, it only makes sense that she's front and center in Frank's cover. "It was great to get the chance to do all of the redesigned team members together," Frank said at the DC blog. "I noticed how it was generally Superman or Batman at the center of this kind of ensemble shot, so I thought I'd give the girls the spotlight this time by putting Wonder Woman in the heart of things."
