Katee Sackhoff To Create, Star In New Sci-Fi Series "Rain"

Former Battlestar Galactica star Katee Sackhoff is going back to the future in a new self-created series called Rain.

Partnering with her Continuum producer Reunion Pictures, Sackhoff will write and executive produce the series for Fly Free Productions. Sackhoff will play the titular character, Rain, a soldier who will serve as viewers' guide to the future of the human race. The series will also address current hot-button issues like global warming and climate change, and the dark shape they may take in the future.

"With Rain, Katee has created a future world and a story that are compelling as both a sweeping vision and a very personal exploration of a civilization in harrowing decline by its own hand," Reunion Pictures' Tom Rowe told Deadline. "She has written a great story and we are excited to be working with her."

Rowe will executive produce with Sackhoff, and Leland LaBarre will produce beneath them.
