Looks like Kermit The Frog may have found his rainbow connection... in Costa Rica.

A newly-discovered frog from Costa Rica shares an uncanny resemblance with Jim Henson's most famous Muppet, Kermit The Frog. Brian Kubicki, Costa Rican Amphibian Research Center came across the new species of glass frog while exploring the country's tropical rainforests. Kubicki named the frog Hyalinobatrachium dianae (named after his mother).

With bright lime green skin and big white eyes there is a lot attention being paid to the Kermit look-a-like and that's more than fine with Kubicki. "I think it is great that this species is getting so much attention around the world," he told CBS News. Hopefully this will help increase the awareness of the incredible amphibians found in Costa Rica and the need to continue studying them and conserve their vital habitats. Costa Rica stands alone with its density of amphibian species; within a mere 51,000 square kilometers of national territory, 201 species of amphibians have been documented."

ABC is currently developing a new television show for the Muppets. Its working title is "Muppets 2015."
