LEGO has announced the results of the Winter 2014 LEGO Review. Of the six Winter Review projects under review, plus one holdover from the Fall 2013 Review, one was chosen to be turned into an official, mass produced LEGO set: the Female Minifigure set.
The Female Minifigure set will be renamed "Research Institute." The set was submitted by Ellen Koojman and features three female scientist minifigures exploring different scientific subjects like astronomy, chemistry, and paleontology. The set is expected to be released this August.
The next review period has also begun and includes two sets based on Doctor Who and one based on The Big Bang Theory. The results are expected to be announced in late summer or early fall.
