Jonathan Theriot posted a screencap of a Pidgey from Pokemon GO standing on his wife Jessica’s hospital bed to Imgur.Theriot told Buzzfeed that he was playing the game while waiting for a C-section. “As soon as it popped up, I was like, oh my gosh, there’s a Pidgey sitting on your bed!” he told Buzzfeed. “So, I screenshotted it, then caught it and showed it to her.”The full image can be seen below:
The image quickly went viral on Imgur and Reddit, gaining nearly 900,000 views and leading to plenty of jokes and snarky comments. “Do you want a divorce?” one Imgur user wrote. “Because this is how you get a divorce.”But Theriot said the game only elicited an eyeroll from his wife.
Theroit caught the Pidgey and his daughter (whom the couple named Ireland instead of after the Pokemon) was born later that morning.
