McG Directed Lethal Weapon Pilot Starring Damon Wayans Order By Fox

Fox and Warner Bros. TV have finalized a pilot-order deal for Lethal Weapon, an hour long series based on the buddy cop action comedy movies which starred Mel Gibson as Martin Riggs and Danny Glover as Roger Murtaugh.

Filling one of the two leading roles will be Damon Wayans who will step in as the remake's version of Murtaugh, with Charlie's Angels director McG set to find his spot in the director's chair.

The series will be written by former Chuck executive producer and creator or Forever, Matt Miller.

The series will kickoff with Texas cop and former Navy SEAL Martin Riggs suffering the loss of his wife and baby, moving to Los Angeles to start anew. From there, he is partnered with Wayans' Murtaugh, who is actively avoiding stress having suffered from a recent heart attack.
