Director Michael Bay is launching a series of graphic novels through his 451 Media company, and branching into a publishing division.

Variety is reporting that Bay will premiere the graphic novels at this year's New York Comic-Con. No titles have been announced, but a few creators have been confirmed to be involved including Skip Woods (X-Men Origins: Wolverine), Scott Rosenberg (Con Air), and Mark Mollouck (the upcoming Black Mass).

CEO Doug Nunes explains what they're calling Touchcode technology through T+ink. The ink used in the printing process of the graphic novels will unlock access to exclusive content on via touch-screen-enabled devices.

"We discover great stories by way of our team of top-notch writers, screenwriters and authors and then work with our technology partners to turn those stories into truly immersive entertainment experiences," he said. Marvel does something similar with its AR App on pages of comics.

So what do you make of this? Think Bay and company have what it take to make a formidable publishing company? Or do you think he should to making his movies?
