Microsoft has unveiled a gorgeous new limited edition Xbox Elite controller for Xbox One users in preparation for the release of Gears of War 4.

The Gears of War themed controller reflects on the warfare gamers experience while exploring Sera and taking on hordes of Locust. Whether it's blood being spattered by a chainsaw or armor being clawed by a wretch, the wear and tear is masterfully crafted onto the new controller.

"Crush the competition with the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller - Gears of War 4 Limited Edition, featuring a gritty, battle-weathered design, an arsenal of swappable components, Hair Trigger Locks, an exclusive in-game item, and three Gear Packs," the announcement trailer's description reads.

Gears of War 4 is set for release this October which means the controller will likely become available around the same time.

The Gears of War franchise kicked off in 2006 and has seen Gears of War 2, Gears of War 3, and Gears of War: Judgement released as further installments. Earlier this year, Microsoft also released Gears of War: Ultimate Edition which remastered the original game for next gen consoles so gamers could suit up as COGs on their Xbox One for the first time.

Earlier today, Microsoft also revealed that the original Gears of War villain will be making his way to the Mortal Kombat style Xbox exclusive fighter game Killer Instinct. You can check out the announcement trailer right here.
