New DC's Legends Of Tomorrow Trailer Travels To The Past

A new trailer for DC's Legends of Tomorrow debuted on USAToday Friday afternoon. The trailer, a minute long, succinctly showed the general premise of the show: Rip Hunter goes to the Time Masters for permission to change history, stopping Vandal Savage from taking over the world. Using his time machine, the Waverider, he gathers together a group of heroes and villains to time-hop and become the titular Legends. It's a mix of scenes from previous trailers and some new bits, including new dialogue.

The trailer also shows where - or rather when - their first mission will be, in 1975, complete with a rockin' soundtrack courtesy of "Time Has Come Today," though that song actually hit in the late 60s (obviously the "Time" theme is what they're going for here, folks).

There's also some decent humor, and an overall light, fun tone to the trailer. A nice Star Wars nod at the end hints at some nice pop-culture integration in the series.

DC's Legends of Tomorrow, the third in The CW's DC Television Universe, debuts January 21, 2016 at 8pm.
