R.I.P. James Avery, Who Voiced Shredder and War Machine

James Avery, the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air star who voiced Shredder on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles's original TV run, passed away yesterday aged 65. Avery, best known for his work in film, also had an impressive animation filmography, including numerous video games and Disney films. He  voiced James "Rhodey" Rhodes on the '90s Iron Man and Spider-Man cartoons. A classically trained dancer and stage actor, Avery first appeared onscreen as an uncredited dancer in The Blues Brothers. Ironically, he would later go on to voice a number of characters in animated series based on Ghostbusters, a movie starring Elwood Blues himself, Dan Aykroyd. "I'm deeply saddened to say that James Avery has passed away," his Fresh Prince co-star Alfonso Riberio tweeted. "He was a second father to me. I will miss him greatly."
