Sharknado 3 To Star Tara Reid and Ian Ziering

Syfy and The Asylum today announced that the original Sharknado survivors Fin and April, played by Ian Ziering and Tara Reid, will return for this summer's Sharknado 3.

It's been generally assumed that at least Reid would come back for some time now, and about two weeks ago she posted some photos of herself in a bikini and shark-toothed necklace to Instagram, leading a number of tabloids to cover her look and refer to her as "Sharknado 3 star." It was less certain that Ziering would be back.

Anthony C. Ferrante will once again direct the film, based on an original screenplay by Thunder Levin.

Premiering on Syfy in July, Sharknado 3 will cause mass destruction in the nation's capital, Washington, D.C., then roar down the Eastern Seaboard.

Sharknado 2: The Second One was Syfy's most-watched Original Movie ever with 3.9 million total viewers.
