That’s no moon—oh, wait. It actually is.
In honor of Star Wars Day, NASA is celebrating a moon near Saturn’s orbit that looks suspiciously like The Death Star. Officially dubbed the The Mimas, the moon has a 400 km diameter crater that gives it that distinct “Galactic Empire Killing machine” feel. As the innermost of Saturn’s moons, Mimas orbits the planet in just 23 hours.

And while we wish that Mimas was filled with Stormtroppers, TIE fighters, and malintent, NASA says that the moon only consists of “water ice.” But, for our sake, maybe its better that way. But even without the giant death ray, Mimas still has a little dark side in it. The name, Mimas, comes from ancient myths. According to mythology, Mimas was a vile giant who was killed by Mars in fight between Olympus and the Titans.
