Stephen Amell Says He’ll Run For Prime Minister If Kanye West Runs For President

It seems that Canada and the United States may be engaged in a game of high stakes chicken with their federal governments.

During Kanye West’s acceptance speech for the Video Vanguard Awards at last night’s MTV Video Music Awards, the hip-hop artist said, “As you probably could’ve guessed by this moment, I have decided, in 2020, to run for president.”

Now Stephen Amell, the Canadian star of Arrow, has thrown his hat into the political ring, tweeting “If Kanye runs for President, I’ll run for Prime Minister of Canada.”

Is Amell serious, or is he just very in character Oliver Queen, who has a history in politics (at least in the comics). These days, anything is possible.

Arrow returns to the CW for Season 4 on Oct. 7.
