The CW Picks Up The Originals, The Tomorrow People, Reign For Full Seasons

Earlier today, The CW announced that its three new hour-long dramas--The Tomorrow People, Reign and The Originals--had been picked up for full-season orders. In the case of both The Tomorrow People and The Originals, the orders were expected; Reign was somewhat surprising, since the series has been off to an uneven start in terms of both ratings and reviews. The Tomorrow People and The Originals benefit from strong ties to existing, popular CW programming; The Tomorrow People comes on right after Arrow, and stars Robbie Amell, the cousin of Arrow's star; the network has made "Amell Wednesdays" a marketing tactic and both stars gleefully play along on social media. The Originals, which is a spinoff of The Vampire Diaries, will actually tie in with its parent series later this season.
