The CW announced this morning that The Flash will air Tuesdays at 8 p.m. starting in the fall, meaning that it will fill the time slot vacated by Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., which will now air an hour later. That means the freshman series will serve as a lead-in for The CW veteran SupernaturalArrow, of which The Flash is a spinoff, will continue on in its Wednesday, 8 p.m. time slot and once again lead into episodes of The 100. A premiere date -- expected to be in early October -- has not yet been announced for the series. After a particle accelerator causes a freak storm, CSI Investigator Barry Allen is struck by lightning and falls into a coma. Months later he awakens with the power of super speed, granting him the ability to move through Central City like an unseen guardian angel. Though initially excited by his newfound powers, Barry is shocked to discover he is not the only "meta-human" who was created in the wake of the accelerator explosion — and not everyone is using their new powers for good. Barry partners with S.T.A.R. Labs and dedicates his life to protect the innocent. For now, only a few close friends and associates know that Barry is literally the fastest man alive, but it won't be long before the world learns what Barry Allen has become…The Flash. Check out the official synopsis below. The Flash kicks off this fall and stars Glee's Grant Gustin as Barry Allen/The Flash. Cisco Ramon (Carlos Valdes) and Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker) will be the S.T.A.R. scientists closest to him, and they have already appeared on Arrow as well.
