During the opening monologue for his last Late Show, David Letterman played a brief clip from The Simpsons.

In the clip, a cartoon version of Letterman tosses his note card, breaking a glass window behind him. Then, the scene pans to Homer and Marge Simpson sitting on a couch. Laughing hysterically, Homer says, “He broke the windowโ€ฆ.again!”

To which Marge replies, “Gosh Homie, Dave’s been on the air for 33 years. Back then, Bart and Lisa were kids, and Maggie was still a baby.” Watch the full clip embeddedย  below from Vid.me.

Goodbye David Letterman. We’ll miss you!
