Telltale Games spoke with Red Bull about their popular Walking Dead video game franchise yesterday, saying that choices players made during the (already-released) first season of the game are likely to continue having ramifications into the second season. "Right now we are just starting to form the concept for season two. This all remains to be seen but we are definitely figuring out how to carry the saves over," said Telltale's Dan Connors, suggesting that it wouldn't just be aggregate choices--that the most common decisions would be assumed and incorporated into the next game--but that your particular Season One gameplay could have an impact on how your game plays out in Season Two. Of course, as seen in the "stats trailer" embedded below, Telltale has been collecting information on those choices, and so don't put it past them to use that information in some creative ways, too. They're incorporating a number of different sources to enhance the game and its story. "I think the games that we talked about the most during development were Heavy Rain and Uncharted from a cinematic standpoint, and Mass Effect from a choice standpoint," said Connors. "For other media we always look at the best episodic series out there - obviously the Walking Dead TV show, but also Game of Thrones and Mad Men, for the way they handle characters and are able to present them with so much depth." The game is actually based on the comics from Image/Skybound and creator Robert Kirkman, rather than the popular AMC television series; another game from a different studio is coming along soon based on the TV show.
