Toonami could not have said it better. On Saturday night, the program is doing life right by airing a non-stop marathon of Dragon Ball Z Kai to ring in the New Year. Earlier this month, the late-night block confirmed they would be celebrating the holidays with a slew of marathons, and it is now Son Goku’s chance to shine. On Saturday, Toonami will be playing back-to-back episodes of Dragon Ball Z Kai, and the program has shared a trailer for the event.

In the trailer, fans are shown plenty of footage from the Android-Cell arc. Pieces of the ‘Perfect Cell’ and ‘Cell Games’ saga can be shown, and fans will no doubt be interested to revisit the thrilling story. After all, the trailer does kick off with Vegeta apologizing to Gohan as they two stare down Cell. You know it’s got to be bad when the princely Saiyan prepares to admit defeat.
However, fans know that Gohan won’t give up so easily. Even when Krillin and Piccolo feel more helpless than ever before, the younger hybrid-Saiyan will dig deep like his father and uses his warrior blood to finish any job. That is what heroes, do you know.
Catching up on Dragon Ball Z Kai this holiday season will definitely come in handy for anime fans. In January, Toonami will finally be bringing the long-awaited final chapters ofDragon Ball Z Kai to its program. Dubbed into English, fans will now be able to see the streamlined “Majin Buu” saga after years of waiting. When Toonami brings Dragon Ball Z Kai: The Final Chapters to the small screen, the program will also bring another long-awaited series to its programming. On January 7th, Toonami is set to debut the English dub of Dragon Ball Super.
