In addition to Geek Pride Day, it's also Towel Day and everybody is getting into the spirit of things, including astronauts aboard the International Space Station. 

From their official YouTube channel, the European Space Agency (ESA), astronaut Samantha Cristoferrti reads from The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and explains a little about why you need a towel according to the book. 

Reading from one of the most renown pieces of science-fiction while in ACTUAL space is a killer thing to cross off a bucket list, no?
