The episode opens on Jackson Herveaux, drinking in his trailer with a half-naked girl in his lap. The phone rings, and the girl brings it to him -- but the mood quickly sours when it's Sookie calling to tell him Alcide has died.

Jason calls Hoyt deliver the news of Maxine's death as well, in his capacity as the law. Hoyt is working on an oil rig in Alaska, where it's light for 18 hours a day this time of year. Hoyt breaks down when he hears the news.

Sookie tells Jackson not to try and come at night; he says he won't, and assures her that Alcide was very happy with her.

Jason, too, starts to fall apart but Sookie tells him he has to hold together for the sake of the community who are looking to him.

Cut to a private jet, where Eric is feeding on the flight attendant. He changes the plans from landing in Baton Rouge to going to Shreveport. He wants to check on Willa. He reveals that he has Hep-V, which upsets the flight attendant who does this for a living and will now be fired. Pam says she hates Shreveport but he tells her it's a trip down memory lane.

Cut to a flashback where a man is showing them around a video store in Shreveport, telling them that they're going to be running it now. Downstairs, there's a big porn room. There's also a tunnel under the building from the Underground Railroad. They have to pay 80% of their revenue to the vampire government. He cautions them that they're being watched 24 hours a day.

Back in the present Sookie goes to visit with Lisa and Coby, who say everyone else is treating them like nothing is wrong. Sookie reassures them that while it's scary and awful, their mom is definitely working to get back to them. She says that she'll help Holly find their mom and she promises they're going to find her.

Inside Andy's house, Holly can't remember anything and he doesn't want her to be bothered -- but Sookie tells him that she can help make her remember. Holly says the last thing she remembers before meeting them at the creek is the mixer where she was taken. Holly says she doesn't really want to remember what happened to her, but she will for the others. Sookie holds her hands and guides her back through her memories until they figure out that it was at Fangtasia. Sookie realizes that Kevin didn't make it but that the others are still alive. Holly sits on the bed sobbing while Sookie says she's going to go to Bill's to make a plan.

In Sam's truck, he tells Jason that he's sick of talking and sick of waiting. Jason tells him he's sure Nicole and the baby are okay. Sam turns around to head to Fangtasia, and Jason pulls a gun on him and tells him that they have to wait for the vampires to make the trip to Fangtasia work.

Jess is in bed, still in pain, and refusing to eat. James tells her that he's going to get Bill, who can make her eat if she won't do it of her own volition. Bill comes to see her, and Sookie joins. Eventually Sookie tells her that she can feed from her, that she trusts Jess.

She tells Jess she doesn't care about Andy's girls; that she needs help saving her friends and that's why she needs to feed. She relents, but won't eat Sookie's blood so they call Lafayette.

Cut back to the video store story, a woman comes in looking for a number of obscure vampire titles. Her name is Ginger and she's working on a paper about the plight of The Other, viewed through vampire stories. After developing an obvious crush on Eric, Ginger applies to work there.

In the present, Jason and Sam head to Rosie's to tell her that Kevin has died. She breaks down and Sam assures her that they're going to get the vampires tonight.

Back at Bill's, he explains to Sookie that he's only doing this because he owes Sookie -- that he's having a hard time rallying troops because there's nothing in it for the rest of the vampires. She lets Bill feed on her. Lafayette goes to see James and Jessica, offering himself so that Jess can eat. She is still upset about the fact that she needs to feed on people, but Lafayette tells her that everyone has issues; that he killed the man he loved. She asks how he forgave himself and he says he still hasn't. Ultimately she feeds.

Cut back to 2006; Pam is stocking True Blood at the store, while Ginger brings a chair in. Now that vampires have come out, she reasons, why not turn the video store into a vampire bar. As reluctant as she is to take Ginger seriously, she sees the value in the Fangtasia idea. She hypnotizes Ginger to convince her that it was all Pam's idea.

Cut to the plane, where she is finally admitting this to Eric.

At Bill's house, there's a small gathering; it's Sookie, Jason, Sam, Jess, James and a couple of other vampires from out of town who are planning an attack on Fangtasia. They see the odds as bad but are about to make their move when Eric and Pam show up. Sookie is sad to see that Eric has the H-vamp markings. He calls out to Willa, who makes her way there, and then Sookie and Eric are left alone in a room to discuss the plans.

She tells Eric that she and Alcide were together, and that he died this morning. Eric starts to object to her dating another supernatural being but she stops him. He explains that he's been wandering the globe for a while, seeing the world one last time. He asks her what kind of trouble she's in.

Willa shows up, furious. Pam is outside muttering that this is a suicide mission. Eric commands Willa to curb her fury and talk about their issues later. Eric and Pam are going to join the invasion force since there's another way in. They enter Fangtasia through the Underground Railroad tunnel. Sam comes first, shifting into a rat. He tells them that they have to trust the vampires that follow him in through a vent. Eric is struggling to break through a wall into the tunnel, so Pam and Bill lead the rescue.

By the time they get in through the vent, though, Arlene has been taken. They rescue the other two girls and Bill says he's going to stay back. Pam tells him that he shouldn't do anything too stupid since it's never going to happen with Sookie.

Bill works his way up into the bar where the H-vamps are feeding on Arlene. Sookie and Eric are at the door; Eric is allowed in since the H-vamps can smell the faerie blood and are intrigued; while Eric negotiates the terms of anyone else feeding on her, the others complete the rescue.

The rescue complete, the invasion group is joined by the vigilante group and launch an attack on the bar. Outside, the vampires are battling while Sookie tries to save Arlene. She wants Bill to give her some blood so she can heal but Bill is distracted by one of the vigilantes outside trying to kill Jess; he has to go kill the guy. Back inside the bar, she thinks she sees Terry again. Just before she drifts off, Terry tells her that she should stay with the kids. Keith, one of the new vampires, is feeding her.

Outside, the H-vamps have all been destroyed (except Eric, who gives Pam a false alarm while feeding on a dead or dying vigilante).
