The positive feedback is also translating into box office success, as Warm Bodies easily won the Friday box office in the United States. Warm Bodies took in $8.1 million at the box office on Friday, which is putting the film on track for a twenty million plus weekend. Of course, things will slow on Sunday when everyone gathers to watch the big game. While Warm Bodies is proving to be hot, this weekend's other big new flick appears to have taken a bullet to the head. Sylvester Stallone's Bullet To The Head opened to only $1.7 million on Friday, which means it will be lucky to take in $5 million over Super Bowl weekend. Last year, the superhero found footage movie Chronicle opened in first place on Super Bowl weekend, helping launch the career of director Josh Trank. The success of Chronicle helped Josh Trank land the director job to a big budget Fantastic Four reboot. Warm Bodies was directed by Jonathan Levine, who is another young up and coming director. Expect Jonathan Levine's career to get a major boost from both the critical and box office success of Warm Bodies.
