In the main event bout of UFC 193 from Etihad Stadium in Melbourne, Australia, Holly Holm stunned the sports world when she knocked out the previously-unbeaten Ronda Rousey with a head-kick at 0:59 of the second round to win the UFC women's bantamweight championship.
Holm was a huge underdog in the late Saturday/early Sunday fight and was given little chance to defeat the champion Rousey, but perhaps the one person that wasn't surprised by how the fight played out was Rousey herself.
In the video above, Rousey told Jimmy Fallon on Oct. 7 that Holm was probably going to, "keep far away from me and keep me frustrated to a point where I’ll make a mistake and she’ll try to kick me in the head – but it’s not going to go like that.”
Rousey should have listened to her own advice and been prepared, because that is exactly the way it played out.
Speculation has already begun that Holm and Rousey will have a rematch in June 2016.
