John Macaluso, CEO of Wizard World, Inc., and Lou Ferrigno, star of the classic The Incredible Hulk television series and a frequent Wizard World celebrity guest, were both guests on the Hallmark Channel's Home & Family, with hosts Mark Steines and Cristina Ferrare.
Macaluso and Ferrigno explained to the hosts what makes these conventions so popular.
"It's a pop culture event," says Macaluso, "where if you're a fan of popular fiction, science fiction, comic books, TV, horror, anime, people who think lie you, act like you, come to see favorite celebrities. They come to see their favorite exhibitors, they come to see their favorite artists and creators."
"It's all about the fan connecting with the celebrity," says Ferrigno. "They get a photo op, they pictures, they ask questions, everyone walks away with a smile on their face, and it's for all ages. It's not just kids. Parents, grandparents, because it's nothing to do with drugs sex and violence. It's very exhilarating. It's a fun event."
