5 Year Old Attacked By A Mountain Lion

With the recent tragic news of an alligator attacking and drowning a 2 year old boy in Orlando, Florida at a Disney World Resort, there is now another report of a wild animal attacking a child.

Acccording to CNN, a 5-year-old boy was attacked but a mountain lion in Colorado. Fortunately, the boy's mother was able to fight off the animal and rescue the child. The boy is now recovering from his injuries in a Denver hospital, and he is listed as being in fair condition. His mother was also treated, but she has already been released.

The mountain lion attack happened on Friday night in Lower Woody Creek, and the name of the boy and his mother has not been released.

Even though mountain lions are common in Colorado, sightings and attacks on people are rare. There have been fewer than a dozen fatalities in North America in more than 100 years according to Colorado Parks and Wildlife.
