For those of you who were concerned that Netflix just didn't have enough content, you're in luck! The streaming service surprised fans by announcing that this Friday, its most recent original horror film, Clinical, will be dropping.

Netflix describes the film as follows:

"A psychologist's horrifying encounter with a disturbed young patient continues to haunt her — causing her to question her own sanity as her visions of the past become increasingly more visceral."

The film was written and directed by Alistair Legrand (The Diabolical) and stars Vinessa Shaw (The Hills Have Eyes), William Atherton, and Aaron Stanford.

The film looks pretty brutal and, considering it focuses so much on people dealing with psychological trauma following awful events, the trailer alone will be pretty terrifying for some viewers.

Netflix has found success with horror series like Hemlock Grove, which was helped by having Eli Roth's name attached, but hasn't quite found success with original horror films. Some of their more recent attempts, like Hush and I Am the Pretty Thing That Lives in the House, have highlighted the talents of indie horror directors, but the films themselves haven't found the same success as their series have.

Will you be checking out Clinical when it drops on Friday? What indie director do you think should get a shot at a Netflix original? Let us know in the comments!
