A new batch of photos surfaced (via Alien-Covenant.com) that show David’s collection has grown considerably since last we saw him, and it’s grown to include Alien Eggs and other biological experiments like Facehuggers and some other creatures that appear to be Xenomorph-related.
The eggs are growing in some sort of tomb, but there is also a shot of David and Shaw’s crashed Juggernaut. Even after all this time, it’s safe to say Facehuggers are just as disturbing now as they were in film’s past.
“The crew of the colony ship Covenant discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but it is actually a dark, dangerous world, whose sole inhabitant is the synthetic David, survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.”
Hopes were high that Alien: Covenant would bring more of the iconic franchise elements into the mix, and thanks to these photos, that truly seems to be the case. While the jury is still out on if the plotline will deliver, it at least seems the studio is taking criticisms of Prometheus to heart.
Alien: Covenant stars Michael Fassbender (X-Men: Apocalypse), Noomi Rapace (Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows), Katherine Waterston (Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them), Danny McBride (Eastbound & Down), Demiรกn Bichir (The Hateful Eight), Jussie Smollett (Empire), Amy Seimetz (The Killing), and Billy Crudup (Watchmen).
Alien: Covenant is slated to hit theaters on August 4, 2017.
